will a zoomed 10g UTH melt the plastic of one of those apogee reptairiums. i have a 38g one and i was going to put one under it.
oh and another thing it is sitting on the carpet. i havnt put it on yet but i was planing on it today. since it has acualy stayed cold for a while now in new england the cage is a little cooler than i would like.
Nope, a properly functioning UTH won't come anywhere near hot enough to melt plastic. Even the hottest ones won't get above 130F. You will need to provide for airflow under the cage, so you can't have it sitting directly on the carpet. So put something under the corners to raise it up just a bit. Caps from pop bottles would work, stacks of nickels, etc. You only need 1/4"-1/2" or so, so nothing major.
