As far as lizards go, I've mainly specialized in anoles. Are beardies aggressive like anoles? I mean, if two male anoles so much as SEE each other, they will fight; my male, Dezzy, flashes his dewlap at his reflection *well, he did when he could see it*. Do beardies fight as readily?

Yup, and so do leopard geckos, and pretty much all lizards.

The only community lizards I've seen where multiple males are tolerated (providing they don't outnumber the females) is viper geckos.

Bearded dragons, however, are FAR more personable than anoles, and unlike anoles, they LOVE to be made a fuss of.

All of ours generally seem to give of the personality of a cross between a puppy and a 2-year-old kid :)

Axe, that is so true. One minute you have to scrape them off your hand and back into their tank, and the next, the can't be bother to come out and will run from you. They can be such babies...bute the cute kind, not just balls of drooling fat :)
