I've got 3 American Alligators that need to be rehomed. We rescued them last year, but are unable to continue to house them where we live. They are 2.5', 3.5', and 4' in length and are in good health. The larger ones are male and female, and the smaller one's gender is not known. The smallest is a little feisty, as well. They've been eating raw chicken as a staple. If you are interested in any or all of them, please contact me. Thanks.

No, we rehomed them to a vet in Dallastown, PA. Thanks for the response, though.

The Italian word pomodoro means tomato in English, but its literal translation is "apple of gold" (pomo d'oro). It's a phrase that could describe Pomodoro's highly polished sculpture, Starr pointed out in her well-attended gallery walk the night before the sale—a very large golden apple with a 31½" diameter and a weight described by Starr as "ridiculously heavy."

It's also an intentionally bruised apple. Since the artist believed that flawlessness was inappropriate to the times in which we live, his whole "Sfere" series ("Sphere" series) features fissures and other seeming eruptions in otherwise perfect forms. He even left inside this one the debris that resulted from its creation. Rotante primo sezionale no. 1 (Rotating First Section No. 1) is one of two artist's proofs made for an edition of two. One of those two editions sold for £313,250 ($541,249) at Sotheby's in London on October 20, 2008. Only this one proof has ever been offered at auction.

Some readers may be familiar with Pomodoro's public works. They can be seen at the United Nations in New York City, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C., Trinity College in Dublin, the Vatican Museums in Vatican City, and Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey, among other places.
