hello everyone i will be getting a baby male bearded dragon and i am stumped on what to name this little boy i need a name that would fit him he is a normal phase and i haven't a clue to a name so any help would be appreciated thank-you sandy.
Congrats on getting a beardie! I love those lizards! Anyway names; there are endless possibilities but I believe that a good name would be something exotic, spunky, original, and suited to the beardie. Don't choose a name until you get to know your lizard, that way you can select a suitible name (instead of naming a wild, voracious beardie "Cuddles" [not that this is unaccectable though, some names can be amusing]). Heck it took me 3 weeks to name my beardie and probably 15 names to find the perfect on for my beardie: Gobi. It suits him perfectly: simple, placid, and happy. Originality is something that a lot of lizard names lack; Spike for example as liza714 pointed out (not insulting those who already have beardies named this, don't take it the wrong way). Here are a few sites that I used for inspiration: http://www.geocities.com/antiquity_00/Drag...tLanguages.html
RE: bearded dragon name My beardie is named Dexter, but sometimes I wish I had named him Pancake... because when he lays flat... he is so wide and round that he looks like a pancake!
Here is the other site, tons of Australian Aborigine names: http://www.lowchensaustralia.com/names/abornames.htm Again, name him something original, but make sure you get to know him first. Have fun with your new beardie! Live long and prosper!
My male I named Dill because he loves that spice and so do I! Years ago I had him on layaway at the pet store (I know better now) they would let me feed him some dill and hold him. My full grown female is Sheila. I wanted an Australian name but not the typical Sydney. My last two babies are named Hope and Faith because they are from this amazing clutch. http://www.reptilerooms.com/displayarticle130-flat.html Congrats on your new little guy!
Mine are DUDLEY( daughter named him after DUDLEY the dragon...and my lil man name Is MOTLEY( Im a totaly CRUE head ) lol I also have a desert horned Named SIXX
Dr Tosney has hundreds of great names on her site for Dragons http://www.biology.lsa.umich.edu/research/...le/BDnames.html
I've had a really hard time naming mine but i finally decided after reading this post. He will know longer be known as beardsley adams or "the mutilator" and is now named "kurt russel"
my friends 5 year old named mine - her name is Bella (i never really had a name for her so she ended up being "spike" becuase I couldn't think of one)
I couldn't think of a name for my baby beardy for the first week I had him. My mom was finally the one to name him "Yubee". Why? She said to him, "'You be' a boy, or 'you be' a girl?" So... Yubee. Actually responds to it too.
haha, i thought it was funny. I'm a fan of his as well as the movie "the thing" in which he has a big grizzley beard (get it?). Kurt russell is also really bada$$. He even played a character named snake. c'mon "
