hiya, i am new to this forum, my boa gave birth to 6 babys the other day, and the day after she has a lump, just above her vent. it was rock hard, but getting softer, but if does look as if it is uncomfortable. she has just given birth, so is moody anyways, but not sure if its down to that, or to this blockage ?? any ideas or just straight to the vet??
Hi, Welcome to the forum. I could certainly have a trip to vet asap. What species of boa is it, 6 babies seem a very low count. There could be complications here.
thanks for answering. she is a hogg island boa, and a dwarf at that, so 6 was kinda what i expected. we have had her 2.5 years, and she was 1.5 years when we got her, so she is 4 years old.
Hi Sassy, That sounds about right for hog island and her age is good so no problems there. As a precaution I would still recommend a vet trip just in case there are more still inside her or other problems with that lump.
