RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: chameleon lighting also, Heika, i have never had a chameleon before and i dont know about having two. it might be a little tough for a beginner like me. i have been studying chams for like 6 months though. ( my old account used to be waker but i got effed up) but i might give it a whirl, who knows? haha Waker
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: chameleon lighting A ceramic heater is basically what it sounds like. A piece of ceramic that screws into a light socket and emits heat but no light.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: chameleon lighting LOL! I think starting with one would be a great idea, but remember... chameleons are like potato chips, you can't just have one. I used a ceramic heater 24/7 all winter because the temps were too low. Before the ceramic heater, daytime temps in the cage except for under the basking light were ranging in the high 50's low 60's. Nighttime were even scarier. Now that the temperatures have come up, I have it turned off. Heika
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: chameleon lighting I use a heater at night as well since my panthers are in the Garage. My veileds get the nice warm office...but they're just babies Ans you're right...potato chips... B)
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: chameleon lighting hahah alright. uhm, well i live in canada, so it does get pretty cold up here, but it is warming up quite a bit. i guess i will buy a ceramic thing next time a go supplies shopping! thanks guys! one more thing, my cage will be done in two days! i worke out all the stuff i need to get done, and it should be done in a couple days! horay! Waker
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: chameleon lighting back to one of my earlier questions, does the therm/hygrometer go in the basking area or the cool area? Waker
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: chameleon lighting I like to keep it up by the basking area...as a "worst case" scenario. You never want it to get too hot up there.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: chameleon lighting My veiled has a 6ftx2ftx3ft viv that I built for him. He loves it.
