Garter snakes arent too bad, but they can be tricky when it comes to feeding. They can also be very flighty and emit an awful smelling musk. Here's a link to a care sheet.... http://www.mcwetboy.com/gartercare/
does anyone have pics of garter snake?? thanks for help stormy... also how is their behavior???? diet? shedding temperture???? humidity????? aggressivness??
These are a cpl of pics of 2 garters that I had caught back in June. They seemed pretty docile, compared to stories I have heard. I let them go after a month...it was too hard to feed it what it needed. I figured that a month of sardines was enough for those 2. They did strike at one of my kids, but I think that it was because she was being too hesitant when she was trying to pick it up. I kept the humidity, temps, substrate just as it was where I caught them. Rebecca
Here are some pics I took a few weeks back: http://alteviltech.com/Gallery2/Reptiles/snake_01 http://alteviltech.com/Gallery2/Reptiles/snake_02 http://alteviltech.com/Gallery2/Reptiles/snake_04 This one was close to a shed so was quite easy to catch.
