mealworm problem

    waxworms are a very occasional treat - pinkies should be given very occasionally - if at all. They are high in fat and low in nutrition.

    were can you find a pretty good scale at i need to weigh my leos to see if they grew

    I got mine for 25$ of www.staples.com - its a digital gram postage scale.

    You can probably buy them at Staples in person as well - or have them order it for you.

    ok so i didnt know staples had them,ima go get one soon so a male and female have to be how many grams?

    For breeding?

    12-15months and at least 50grams

    ok so reguler sun does not hurt them right cause i got 2 of my tanks by the window there tank is not getting hotter or anything im just wondering if the sun bothers them,they all have three hides.

    As long as the temps dont increase in the tank then there is no issue

    oh ok i got my scale 2! female 48 grams and male is almost sub adult

    Cool - how old is the female?

    Since your male is still young i would give them about 6 months before breeding them. They have to be strong and healthy enough to be ok during the pre-breeding cooldown. During this time - focus on properly feeding your female so she gains some more weight and is heavy enough to go through the pre-preeding conditioning and then make the eggs, and lay them.

    "The herpetoculture of the leopard gecko" has a great breeding section! I would buy that book and read the breeding section to get some ideas.

    A healthy leo (parasite free, good weight, etc) should be able to handle the cool-down with no adverse effects. Check out that book, it describes it all n detail.
