Extremely! They need both UVA and UVB and depending on which Uri you get you will need a basking spot around 120-140 degrees F!
I dunno if its different for the ornates, but I know everything I have read on uromastyx says the tme is supposed to drop sharply at night (to 65-75 degrees), as it would in the desert.
Ya, my two 150ceramics only get their dens up to 80. You only want to drop your temps below 75ish when you're brumating them for breeding.
I'm not saying thats not true, but I'm just curious where you got that from? The breeder I got it from told me 65-75, as well as the books I have read on uromastyx as well said the same thing.
I could be wrong, but i was talking to Doug Dix about my night tine temps. He told me to keep my temps at 70-80, unless i was going to brumate them.
Oops, lol. I forgot I just posted in this thread but here's my little Ornate Uro Spike excuse the bad quality, it's a cell phone pic,... never found my camera cord
Spike update He's grown so much! ...but he's still small! I'm getting so impatient, Ornates grow so slow! Lol Chillin like a villin, lol
Well.... I plan on picking up another next summer and eventually breeding them the following year so... if you want to wait... lol.
