new here and a few q's on dumerils

    hello, im tyler, im 18 and i have just aquired a dumeril monitor yesterday. This isnt my 1st monitor, so please no bad comments on how much of a noob i am. i have 1 dumeril, 3 ackies, 2 timors, and 1 sav.i have a few q's i would like to ask.
    1.is sand and dirt mixed 50/50 a good substrate?
    2.temps(i have 82-90 ambient, 70 night, and 110 basking)?
    3.size? (ive heard 4ft)

    Hey, go easy fella not everyone has or even know about dumerils, not commonly kept and rarely come on the market from what I can read up. They are also known as the rough-neck monitor.
    Caresheets are few and far between, and those that do exist are sketchy.
    They do grow to in excess of 5ft and need a large space obviously with a pool to at least soak their whole body in, as well as being able to dig tunnels.
    As far as food goes, I would take everything that you feed all your others and mix it up and see how he copes with that.

    please be patient. this forum is not that crowded till everyone answered every single question.
    i think with that experience you can look up at your other monitor. i think they'll be nearly the same as other. your monitor wont die that quick because of unproper substrate or bad heating.
