Hello all..... I am new to this, and have just had a 5 month old Horsefield Tortoise for my birthday last week. She is beautiful, but I am concerned that she is sleeping too much, as she seems to sleep all day has about an hour out of her vivarium and then finds a hidy hole to go back to sleep, and then sleeps all night too. I do prod her to make sure she is ok!

I am also concerned over the eating thing.... I have read so many conflicting websites now, I don't know what to do! What can I give her and how should she be fed. She only ever eats when I take her out! Can anyone give me some advice please!

    Thank you!

Whats the temperature in her enclosure? Too much heat or too little heat can make them sleep alot.

The cool end should be 70-75 degrees. The warm end should be 90-95 degrees.

Like you said, there is alot of conflicting information but russiantortoise.net is one of the best sites I've seen. Good luck with your little girl :)
