vet foir tokay

    I s it necesary to see vets once in a while for my tokay gecko,or is this nonsense.

    It is VERY important, especially if you get a wild caught one. Most WC are riddled with parasites and there have been a few people on this website who have had their tokays die. Best thing you can do is get a fresh poop sample from your tokay, put it in a ziplock bag and take it to the vet to be checked for parasites. It costs me about $20 to get a fecal check. Some people think it's a waste of money but it's cheaper than buying a new gecko if you let yours die.

    Its always a good idea to have a fecal sample done for new geckos just to make sure they are not riddled with parasites. But after that, if they are healthy and active and eating, there is no need for "once in awhile" vet visits.
