What type of snake is this?

    Hello everyone. I've never used this forum before but I'm having an odd amount of trouble identifying this snake. It's pattern seems fairly messy. I came outside to my cat pawing at something, and shooed him away to see this snake curled up. Could anyone identify this snake for me? Thank you!

    Where are you located?

    Oh, and I'm pretty sure it's a garter snake.

    I live in south Florida. I thought it was a garter as well but there was no line down it's back. Are there garter snakes that have no line along their spine?

    It's hard to tell from the picture, but it could be a juvenile species of a some type of neroida. It could even be a juvenile racer. More pictures from different viewpoints would be extremely helpful.
